چکیده

We present the first results of an ongoing project to study the morphological, kinematical, dynamical, and chemical properties of satellite galaxies of external giant spiral galaxies. The sample of objects has been selected from the catalogue by Zaritsky et al. (1997). The paper analyzes the morphology and structural parameters of a subsample of 60 such objects. The satellites span a great variety of morphologies and surface brightness profiles. About two thirds of the sample are spirals and irregulars, the remaining third being early-types. Some cases showing interaction between pairs of satellites are presented and briefly discussed. Subject headings: galaxies: general-galaxies – structure-galaxies – fundamental parameters

The Properties of Satellite Galaxies in External Systems. Ii. Photometry and Colors

In this second paper dedicated to the study of satellite galaxies we present broad-band photometry in the B, V , R and I filters of 49 satellite galaxies orbiting giant isolated spiral galaxies. First analysis of the properties of these objects are presented by means of color–color and color–magnitude diagrams for earlyand late-type satellites. Although we find differences in the slope of the V...

Stellar Populations in the Central Galaxies of Fossil Groups

It is inferred from the symmetrical and luminous X-ray emission of fossil groups that they are mature, relaxed galaxy systems. Cosmological simulations and observations focusing on their dark halo and inter-galactic medium properties confirm their early formation. Recent photometric observations suggest that, unlike the majority of non-fossil brightest group galaxies (BGGs), the central early-t...

The Structural Properties of Isolated Galaxies, Spiral-Spiral Pairs, and Mergers: The Robustness of Galaxy Morphology During Secular Evolution

We present a structural analysis of nearby galaxies in spiral-spiral pairs in opticalBV RI bands and compare with the structures of isolated spiral galaxies and galaxies in ongoing mergers. We use these comparisons to determine how galaxy structure changes during galaxy interactions and mergers. We analyze light concentration (C), asymmetry (A), and clumpiness (S) parameters, and use the projec...

Morphology Change and Structural ‎Evaluation of Carbon Nanostructures

In this study, the change of porosity and roughness of carbon nanostructures, including fullerenes, carbon nanotubes and graphene was investigated according to oxidation process. The effect of oxidation was more sensible on smoother surface of nanostructures. Oxidation increases surface roughness of graphene up to 5.2% and porosity up to 35.2%. While, roughness of hummers graphene is 13....

Comparative analysis of profit between three dissimilar repairable redundant systems using supporting external device for operation

The importance in promoting, sustaining industries, manufacturing systems and economy through reliability measurement has become an area of interest. The profit of a system may be enhanced using highly reliable structural design of the system or subsystem of higher reliability. On improving the reliability and availability of a system, the production and associated profit will also increase. Re...
